Vijaya returned to India and started her private practice in Mumbai. She bought a nursing home and also joined as Hon. Consultant in Bombay Hospital. While doing the practice she got associated with Royal college of obstetrics and Gynaecologist , London conducted the MRCOG exams.After 4 years work in Papua New Guinea Dr. B.G. Patil came back to India to join Vijaya. He did try to practice in Mumbai but then decided to go to Shirala to start the hospital which was his dream.
