Socialy and politically she was very active. She has been Chairperson of Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal, Maharashtra, The corporation which was financially in negative balance having no funds at all was pulled out with various efforts by income generating programmes. She also got IFAD project (International funds for agricultural development) for MAVIM. The corporation got Rs. 32 crore for rural women project. She was member of various organisations like Maharashtra State Commission for Women, People’s Action Development, Maharashtra State, Red Cross Maharashtra State, ICMR. SENATE MEMBER of S.N.D.T. (University & College, Mumbai. MEMBER OF ACADEMIC COUNCIL of University of Bombay, Mumbai. She was VICE PRESIDENT of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee She was FOUNDER MEMBER of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan where she started “Mahila Vyaspeeth” to bring all the women’s organization on one platform for proper communication and collective work force.
