DR. VIJAYA B. PATIL was truly a multi faceted and multitalented personality.She was known ay many names.She was DOCTOR ATTYA to some,to the others she was known as DOCTOR MAUSHI and to scores and scores she was known as DOCTOR MADAM or just as DOCTOR SAHEB. But to me she was my "OWN BELOVED AKKA" My AKKA,was a tough taskmaster.She used to to constantly tell her family members,"NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DO IT WELL. REMEMBER,YOU ARE COMPETEING WITH YOURSELF"She had immense powers of persuasion and her very presence acted as a inspirational motivator. My AKKA,was very courageous and she took yhis trait to HIMALAYAN HEIGHTS.May be she got this trait from MAA SAHEB--THROUGH THE GENES. My beloved AKKA did not beleive in sympathy.She used to go out of her way to releive the the person of his or her troubles .This was EMPATHY--in capital letters. In times of pain, agony,distress or in ay calamity--either self inflicted or natural the Patils used to derive solace from the fact that my very own Akka was there right brhind them standing steadfastlly like "THE ROCK OF GIBRALTAR' Who is there now? Fate has dealt a cruel blow to all of us.May she is up there with the angels watching over all of us, as usual,as before.
