As we all try to get back to ordeals of daily living since sudden & shocking death of Aattya, memories of her linger in all our minds. Death of Atya to many of us meant end of an era. Aattya was well & truly most dominant force in our lives. She taught us things as small as how to use fork & knife at the table to important characters such as hard work & sincerity that are required to succeed in one’s life. She always led by example. She was fountain of never ending energy. Laziness was her number one enemy .This unfortunately meant some of us with our life styles became regular recipients of well earned lectures!! The sound of her car horn arriving back from consulting at 9.30 pm every night still rings in my distant memory. This would serve as notice to us at home that it was time to stop watching TV & hit the study table. Thank god Himgiri had a gate that was required to be opened manually by duty watchman! Thank god also cars are made with horns! I (and I am sure you & Amar) owe my life to these 2 things!!. As a family, loss of Aattya, is a tremendous blow. This was earthquake of magnitude of 9, one untimely tremor that shook us all badly & shattered our dreams for future. Family was Aattyas priority. She was there for everyone’s minor difficulties to life threatening illnesses. She was one stop shop for solutions for all family issues. Her word was final. Aattya earned this reputation from her constant unwavering commitment to wellbeing of this family. Coming from humble background of village life in Karanjawade in times when girls did not even go to school, Aattya achieved highest qualifications & international reputation in her field. She was ‘SHAN’of our family she was & would remain true inspiration to all of us forever. Aattya was shining light of this family. Her death has left us all in darkness, it feels as if whole family is orphaned..........Death has never felt so irreversible.I am sure with her blessings we would all get through this horrible moment & come out stronger as a family because Aattya would not have expected anything different.
